Hello everyone and no one! I figured I should make an initial blog post so that people who wander across this page have something to read.

My name is Brian Tyiran. I am based in Chicago, IL. Full time, I am an Electrical Distribution Engineer and, in my free time, I am a self-taught artist. Rex the Tyrant is the front for my artistic endeavors. I see this website as a space to simply record and present the different things I work on. Right now, I am doing a lot of learning, testing, and critiquing in an effort to find out what my favorite mediums are, what my process is, and what my style is. I intend to post everything I create as a way to build a portfolio and also document how my skills and style change over time.

Eventually, I hope it also becomes a way for people interested in the kind of work I do to contact me for potential commissions. I will set up a commissions page when I am ready to start taking on work.
